Role card 1: Staying  or leaving?

  • The role play is about young grown ups:
  • SHOULD THEY STAY AT HOME OR SHOULD THEY LEAVE THEIR FAMILIES AND START LIVING ON THEIR OWN?
  • Three people take part: two people with controversial opinions and a  reporter.
  • You are: a parent
  • Your opinion: Young adults should leave their homes and families as  soon as they are grown up.
  • Your task: First, make a list of arguments in favour of your opinion. Then try to convince your partner. Third: You may be asked to sum up the  essential arguments in your own words.
  • Basic requirements: Since your partners can only understand English  you have to speak English. Listen carefully to what your opponent says  and react to what he/she says. The teacher will tell you about the time scheme.
